Thank you for your detailed story that documented what so many of us have gone through. I was wondering if you used auto resetting refillable cartridges, and if so, did the ink counters reset properly? I bought a cheap Chinese set that worked fine at first, but then stopped working because of the firmware update. I can still use them by using the powering off, unplugging the unit with the cartridges removed, repowering, and reinstalling the cartridges, and just bypassing the nag warning. However, the cartridges don't seem to reset anymore and are showing dwindling ink levels. So is this controlled by the firmware, and will I expect to get that functionality restored with the downgraded firmware?
