DianaB 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2025 Epson Pro WF-7130, I've already downgraded the firmware, but I have no clue what to do now. I joined an Epson printer group on Facebook, but apparently, the Admins could be rude, nasty, and condescending, but no one is allowed to respond to their behavior. My printer is stuck on the Maintenance Error screen, cannot recognize ink. I don't know how to get past this. I wasn't thinking and did an Update. I didn't turn off notifications, and I got the popup only half saw what it was, then it was too late to fix my mistake. Now, nothing. When I hold the Start, Stop, Left, and Down keys, it shows Epson Device ROM Program Update Mode CA02, I have no clue what to do from here or if I should be doing anything. Do I need to buy a firnware key and do something on the WIC Reset app? I've had different people tell me differently - Yes, it will work for my software, and no, if it won't. Help is appreciated
wic.support 31 Report post Posted December 27, 2025 Good day. Please, explain your problem in more details step by step. Do you have 3rd party cartridges? CISS system? When exactly they stopped being recognized, right after update? You said you already downgraded firmware, how, when? The more information you provide the more likely we will be able to help. DianaB 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2025 I use Windows operating system. I have only ever used 3rd party cartridges. About December 20th, I wasn't paying attention, an Update request came up on my screen, and I clicked Okay or whatever to confirm the update. I wasn't thinking when I did, but I messed up. Since then, I've not been able to use my printer. Image 3 is the only thing I see. I can't get past it. I was told to go to epson.com/Support to download the old firmware. I downloaded the file Recovery Mode Firmware version CA08P9 - dated 09/29/2025 and installed it. When I hold down Start, Stop, Left, and Down keys at the same time, it shows Epson Device ROM Program Update Mode CA02, (picture attached). I think that downgraded the firmware. At least that's what I was told. I have no clue what to do from here. I've tried multiple times unplugging it & leaving it unplugged to "cycle the memory." I've watched YouTube video after video and gotten nowhere.
wic.support 31 Report post Posted January 4 Good day. CA08P9 is only a few months old, you need an older version. Try this one from epson archive and report the results, in particular if the version is changed after update process: https://download3.ebz.epson.net/dsc/f/03/00/15/88/80/08ab2c159922c7920d9730e03ad7990fb5ef5f0b/FWCH70TL_CA29O5.exe
