Can't find option to reset waste counter

Recommended Posts

I came to this site when I Googled for "reset et 3850 waste tank" and got the software but there is no option to reset it.  This printer does not have a menu setting to reset which is why I was looking to reset it. I've already replaced the waste tank but the printer does not detect or use the tank's chip and per Epson, I'd have to send the printer to be services. (anyone would know sending a printer with full waste tank risked getting leaks everywhere due to rough handling of shipping services)

Where can I find the reset option or where do I enter the code? The only place I can enter is to "check key" and my key shows unused.

This is what Google said to me: https://i.imgur.com/GLR8ax7.png

Forgot to mention I did this a year ago without any issue. Got new waste tank, ran WIC program, and it worked for a year. Unless Epson changed something, I shouldn't have any trouble resetting waste level.

Good day. Can you elaborate what exactly did you do in WIC year ago? Since this model has a chip on the maintenance box it is impossible to reset by software. Replacing the box with new working chip should be enough. We do have the option to reset platen pad but this is auxillary counter and related to, well, platen pad.
