Epson WF-3620 / WF-3640 Waste Ink Counter Explained (Maintenance Cartridge Chip System)

Recommended Posts

Unlike many Epson printers where the waste ink pad counter can be reset using tools like the Adjustment Program or WIC Reset Utility, the Epson WF-3620 and WF-3640 models handle this differently. These printers do not store the waste ink counter inside the printer firmware. Instead, the counter is embedded in an IC chip located on a separate Maintenance Cartridge (waste ink box). Once the cartridge reaches its limit, the system will not allow further printing, and the only solution is to replace the entire maintenance cartridge with a new one that includes a fresh IC chip.
