  1. First You have to clean PW Sensor.

Because it can be dirty by ink - ink entered this area from the bottom, most likely during ink charging/cleaning.

PW sensor is located underneath the carriage on the left hand side (facing the printer).

It is essentially inaccessible without dis-assembling the machine.

After taking off the rear, sides, and top of the machine, you have to remove the bottom also.

It shouldnt take that long, perhaps 20 minutes.

Next, after carefully sliding the carriage over to the left most position (again facing the machine), the assembly holding the PW sensor became visible in a 2x2 window. Working through this window, you will be able to clean the sensor with a Q-tip followed by several blasts of canned air. Next, after reassembling the machine, you should run the diagnostics and adjusted the pw sensor.

  4. I have an Epson Expression Home XP-215 and upgraded the firmware a few days ago to version OF25DB. Do you know, if this problem also occurs on this printer? If yes, could you please add support for firmware downgrade to the WIC utility? Thank you!

And a second question: Do you think that third party cartridges with future chips will work with the new firmware?

    1. Yes. Sure. This kind of problem is common to XP-215 also.

    2. They will work until need reset.

    So need make downgrade.

    One time.

    Then don't make firmware update!

    3. We'll add XP215 model soon.

  5. I've getting a "filter error" on the printer...i've been getting the same think on my Epson CX5800F since a recent apple update

Think I just found the answer...seem lots of folks are having the same issue...
    1. Go to the Apple Menu
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Open Sharing
    4. Enter any name on the computer name field; eg My iMac. Close the page once done
    5. Restart the computer. You should be able to print now.
Just tested and both printers seem to be working fine.
