P800 Initial Ink Charge Error Message

Recommended Posts

Trying to run an initial ink charge with the Epson Adjustment Program to flush a P800 -- keep getting a communication error message (see attached). I'm running Windows 10 on Parallels with Mac OS 10.15.2 (Catalina). I can connect to the printer in Windows with no problem.  I've restarted both printer and my computer with the same result.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated -- thanks in advance --

Jeff

Good day.

1. Do you have this problem only with ink charge? Did you try any other function?

2. Also, for this application printer`s driver must be installed, but all processes and services related to the printing and/or Epson (Status Monitor, My Epson Portal, etc) must be disabled because they can interfere with the communication process.

Thanks for the response.  In reply:

1. No other function in the program works -- same communications error message.

2. I have attempted to disable the Status Monitor, but cannot locate the option to disable it in Printing Preferences.  Based on searches for how to disable it, the selection should appear where the Driver Update button is located in the screen shot below.  I've downloaded and installed the current driver from the Epson site.  Suggestions as to where that disable function may have moved?  Anything else that might be interfering with communication between the adjustment program and the printer?  There is no option to disable within the Status Monitor dialogue box, either.  Thanks, Jeff

Update:  Discovered I was searching in the wrong dialogue -- found the disable option under "Speed and Progress", which I selected and saved.  Communication error remains the same.  What else should I try?  Thanks -- Jeff

Unfortunately, I do not have specific advice right now. Try this first:

1. Shutdown the printer and then restart windows.

2. Replace USB cable and port.

3. Download and install WICReset then run it as administrator and select in the main menu `support >> disable processes` this will shutdown everything related to epson.

4. Start the printer and wait until initial sequence is completed.

5. Start the AJP and explicitly select correct port in the initial dialog.

6. Try ink charge again.

If this will not help, send me your contacts (skype or telegram) in the private message and I will contact you directly.
