WF-C5890 / WF-C5810 - DATA FILE IS NOT FOUND

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone.

Unfortunately it looks like Epson played a trick on us.
We are experiencing firmware upload issues on newer models of WF-C5890 and WF-C5810 printers.
Even turning on the printer in service mode, at the end of the firmware transfer process, the following error message is displayed on the screen: DATA FILE IS NOT FOUND.
We've tried transferring the firmware in normal mode and in firmware mode, and neither is working.

Are you already aware of this issue?
We have at least 6 cases where it is not possible to transfer the firmware due to this issue.

Is there any solution for this?

Thanks in advance for your attention.

Hope you can help us.

Att.

Jefferson.

Good day.

Please, provide more information about the issue, exact model and exact name of the firmware you are uploading as well as detailed descripion of how you are entering the service mode, if possible provide a screenshot of the printer's screen in the service mode at the beginning before you start the upload process.

Hello, sorry, I didn´t see your answer before.

Today we had the seccond case of this issue. The first was when I oppened this topic.

The today´s costumer unfortunally accepted the Epson firmware update last night, before to contact us.

The firmware used is the one wich I always download directly from chiplesssolutions.com:

https://chiplesssolutions.com/download/chipless/WFC5890_FWCK23TL_DB01N9_DB99Z9.zip

The procedure to put the printer in service mode is:

Turn off the printer, and then, turn on pressing and holding the following butons:

- NUMBER 4
- NUMBER 7
- JOB/STATUS BUTON
- and then, POWER ON BUTON

We already did the chipless in around 50 printers of these model.

For the C5890 and C5810 models (and some others), we have to put in service mode. It doesn´t works in normal mode.

Follow in attach, the screenshot of the panel after put it in service mode.

Thanks in advance and wait for your answer.

I also encountered a case here
The original firmware version of the machine is vDB23P1.
According to the customer, he did not originally use this firmware version.
This version was changed after the firmware was updated!! The production date of this machine is May 2024
I also tried downgrading to FW_DB15OA.
Got the same result!!
I don't know if there is a solution to this problem???

I saw a new firmware version DE23P1 on the website.
https://chiplesssolutions.com/download/chipless/WFC5890_FWCK23TL_DB23P1_DB99Z9.zip
After downloading, actual testing, still can't update!!
That is to say,
https://chiplesssolutions.com/download/chipless/WFC5890_FWCK23TL_DB23P1_DB99Z9.zip
You cannot flash the system on a machine that is already DE23P1.
But you can flash his version of the machine and flash it to DE23P1.
This can prevent the machine from updating DE23P1, making it impossible to flash the machine without the chip.

------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, the problem that the machine with DE23P1 firmware system cannot be flashed without chip is still unsolved!
There is an engineering mode available on C5790.
When shutting down the device, press and hold the power button + #, enter the password 16544, and then you can flash the device!!
C5890, can go to engineering mode, but I don't have the password, so I can't test whether I can flash the phone using this mode!
