Yes, I fixed it while uploading it in normal mode. One thing to mention is that, I didn't have to wait for it to finish 100%. As it came out as an error that the firmware wasn't installed properly. I just used the activation tool and voila, my printer's good to go. Thanks for the help

I tried with the new firmware, I still get no firmware version on WICReset and Reading failed -1

How do I check that exactly? Edit: I tried checking it using WICReset.exe, but it does not mention the firmware

I have the same problem with my XP-240, it says Read failed -1. What can I do? I removed my installed printers, don't know how to clear my ports. But I have less than 30 printers...
